![]() Stellarium can be used as an educational tool to learn about the night sky, as well as a tool for planning observations through a telescope. Small to install and fast to run, Stellarium’s user interface is blindingly easy to use and smooth in. I'm primarily comparing it to SkySafariPro and Sky Guide, but, along the way, I've probably tried a half-dozen other apps for iPhone and, so far, Stellarium + just 'drew me in' more than any other with it's intuitive, uncluttered interface and deep space possibilities. ![]() We think it’s one of the best, if not the best, astrophotography software around. Stellarium Portable is a pocket-sized free planetarium that will please all astronomy fans out there. Considering Stellarium is free, open-source software it’s surprisingly advanced and can be used on almost any device imaginable, whether portable or not. And if not, it also works great as an entertainment for coffee break. While Stellarium Portable doesn't include highly-detailed imagery and makes traveling from one point to another a bit confusing sometimes, it's also a very interesting app – as long as you like astronomy. Stellarium Portable also lets you add extra information to the image, such as a grid with parallels and meridians, constellation art based on mythological figures and cardinal points, among others. ![]() With Stellarium Portable you'll be able to look at the sky from any location in the World, which means you can check the different star constellations visible from different areas in the world.
